Technical Expertise
Half of our staff are registered P.E.’s – Professional Engineers.
The average work experience of our P.E.’s is 27 years.
Our P.E.’s have developed and published commercial engineering software (EDR) used by over 4000 design professionals in over 100 countries.
PowerPlus Engineering does beta testing for SKM Power Tools software.
Our P.E.’s are advanced users of state of the art engineering design and analysis tools:
- SKM Power Tools
- Aspen One Liner
- Advanced Grounding Concepts WinSGM, Smart Ground Multimeter
- Advanced Grounding Concepts WinIGS, Integrated Grounding Software
- CYME CAP, Cable Ampacity Program
- Amp-Calc, Neher McGrath Calculations
- EDR, Electrical Designer’s Reference
- Polywater, Pulling Tension and Sidewall Pressure
- AGI, Photometrics
- MathCAD
- AutoCAD
- Microstation
PowerPlus has an in-house R&D model shop and a staff machinist.
We have an extensive engineering library including many historical publications.
We have a multi-lingual staff – English, Spanish, Japanese, Russian.
Business Sense
Frequently, the greatest difficulty on a project is not a technical challenge, but a business administration hurdle. Let’s be honest; many engineers lack financial, political, and bureaucratic sensibilities. PowerPlus was the lead electrical engineer on the largest construction project ever built in Hawaii, a $2.5 billion federal (military) infrastructure project. Our success required more than technical expertise; we succeeded because we efficiently moved the project through the bureaucratic process.
Integrated Engineering
Engineering does not end with drawings and specifications. Most of our projects at PowerPlus Engineering are Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) contracts and our involvement with procurement and construction changes the way we engineer. Because of our close relationship with our sister company, PowerPlus Electric, we are constantly improving the constructability of our designs.
Energy. People. Security. Continuity.
